Michael “Mike” Deising Obituary, Cause of Death - MARYSVILLE Broker and Community Leader Dies Unexpectedly

MARYSVILLE, Mich. — July 14, 2026 — The Marysville community is mourning the sudden and unexpected passing of Michael “Mike” Deising, 54, a respected real estate broker, longtime firefighter, and beloved public servant. Known for his booming laugh, infectious humor, and generosity, Mike’s death has left family, friends, and colleagues heartbroken.

A Lifelong Quaker: Roots and Family

Born in 1972, Mike was a lifelong resident of Marysville and a graduate of Marysville High School, Class of 1990. He later attended St. Clair County Community College (SC4).

In December 2001, he married the love of his life, Pam Deising, a registered nurse at Lake Huron Medical Center. Together, they built a life rooted in faith, family, and service. Mike was a proud stepfather to Alex, a software engineer, and welcomed his daughter-in-law, Cheyanne, into their close-knit family.

The Ultimate Public Servant

Mike dedicated 27 years as a Paid-On-Call Firefighter with the Marysville Fire Department, risking his safety to protect his neighbors. He also served as President of the St. Clair County Firefighters Association, earning respect across the region.

Before transitioning into real estate, Mike worked 13 years with Coca-Cola Enterprises as a route driver and salesman, where he coined his guiding philosophy: “The Customer is Why.”

A Real Estate Icon

In 2001, Mike entered the real estate industry, quickly becoming a leader in the Blue Water Area property market. Licensed as a broker in 2008, he owned Deising Real Estate, later aligned with Epique Realty.

  • Top Producer: Since 2013, Hour Detroit Magazine consistently named him among the Top 5% of real estate professionals in Metro Detroit.
  • Association Leader: He served nearly a decade as a Director for the Eastern Thumb Association of REALTORS® (ETAR) and was its President in 2015.

Upon his passing, ETAR released a statement:

“If you knew Mike, you knew. He was one of those people who truly rooted for you. He wanted to see you succeed, wanted the best for you… He was a friend, a mentor, a teammate, and quite often, the life of the party.”

Community Mainstay

Mike’s energy extended far beyond his career. He co-founded the Marysville Hot Wheels Weekend, turning his love for custom cars into one of the area’s most anticipated summer events. He was also a passionate musician, often playing with close friends who described him as a brother.

He was active in civic life, maintaining memberships at St. Christopher’s Catholic Church, the Sons of the American Legion Post 449, the Fraternal Order of Eagles 3702, the Port Huron Moose Lodge No. 158, and the Marysville Business Council.
